Pebble Grove residential complex in lower La Lucia was due for an upgrade, and through our relationship with 2 of the owners, namely Trevor Edwards and Neil Beytell, we were approached to design the rather large complex upgrade. From the outset the Body Corporate required us to be as “Cost Effective” as possible, as all upgrades did not directly add value to any one owner but would undoubtably add a collective increase in both value and lifestyle.
We therefore decided to make the most of the changes to the public areas, namely Front Entrance, Driveway/Parking Area and the Communal Pool Area and its access to the Beach. The concept surrounding the Front entrance revolved around creating a sense of arrival and attending to the rather uncomfortable bi-directional existing entrance. We tried to create an entrance of Grandeur to the complex by introducing a double access gate and feature elements such as rock cladding and a covered feature.
It was important to us to generate a pallette of Natural materials and Colours that could be repeated through the complex to tie the design together. Our choices of Slate, Timber and Olive Green colouring managed to successfully bring Pebble Grove into the Modern Era. The Re-Designed Pool area and Beach Walk helped make the communal pool more relaxing and child friendly as well as encourage the residence to enjoy the space and meander onto the Beach.
